Doppelgangers

My contribution to the 65th anniversary edition of Raymond Queneau’s OULIPO-defining meta-classic, Exercises in Style.

This short story was written for New Directions’s 65th Anniversary Edition of Raymond Queneau’s Exercises in Style (2012), a page-long story about a man on a bus retold in 99 different ways. The edition also includes tributes written by Jesse Ball, Amelia Gray, Shane Jones, Jonathan Lethem, Ben Marcus, Harry Mathews, Lynne Tillman, Frederic Tuten, and Enrique Vila-Matas.
