Have been up to my neck in work and engagements lately, so have been caught playing catch up or lie down more often than I’d like.

AWP LA is happening this week. Seems weird to imagine people congregating in that space right now, bumping butts around little tables. Someone should blog about going to AWP without actually going, but it’s not going to be me.

Anyhow, below are some micro updates in lieu of actual butt-bumping.

  1. Glass Orchid Announcement

This weekend we’ll be announcing the inaugural winner of the Molly Aviva Brodak Award for Bravery in Poetics.

If you’re not already on our mailing list, you can join here to receive information on our future prizes and other efforts.

  1. WANTED

The following week I’ll be launching WANTED, a new weird web mag full of new work from 5-10 of some of my favorite authors currently working. A preview of the landing page is behind the paywall.

I am not yet currently accepting unsolicited subs but may do so in the near future, and you will be the first to know right here.

  1. Flower

I recently blurbed the new very short quasi-memoir/essay, Flower, by Ed Atkins. It’s a really fun one.

‘Every sentence in this delightfully bizarre techno-memoir could stand alone on a page and command allure. Like splicing the miniature divulgences of Édouard Levé with the ominous bombast of Jenny Holzer, Flower makes automatic non-fiction feel like sci-fi, and it’s instantly unforgettable.’

I read a section about vaping to Megan during a recent road trip and she confirmed that Ed Atkins knows what’s up about vaping. This is also without question the first book I’ve ever seen mention playing Hearthstone.

  1. Rose Books Reader

The RBR is officially hitting mailboxes and looks incredible. It’s currently sold out through the publisher but still available through Asterism. For those near Philly, I’ll be at the launch party on April 26th. More info tk.

I feel like we’re starting to see more small magazines rushing in to fill the recent relative void.

  1. Void Copies

As a thanks to paid subs, I’d like to give away a few signed copies of my most recent novel, Void Corporation.
